Historic Courthouse 1893 Waukesha, WI | Baleigh + Michael
7.12.25
We had the absolute joy of capturing Baleigh and Michael’s stunning wedding day at the Historic Courthouse 1893 in Waukesha, Wisconsin—a venue that practically begs to be photographed with its grand architecture and timeless charm. But what made the day truly unforgettable wasn’t just the building’s beauty. It was the quiet glances, emotional vows, and unfiltered joy that radiated from Baleigh and Michael every step of the way.
From the moment Baleigh stepped into the ceremony space, framed by soft window light and the rich textures of 19th-century stonework, we knew this would be a deeply moving celebration. The indoor ceremony was warm and elegant, with soft tones, romantic florals, and a glow that wrapped the entire room in intimacy.
The look on Michael’s face when he saw her? Unmistakable love. It’s one of our favorite moments we captured—raw, real, and full of heart.
Historic Courthouse 1893 was the perfect setting to tell their story. This beautifully restored Romanesque building features:
25-ft ceilings and arched windows that let in floods of natural light—perfect for capturing soft, flattering portraits.
An ornate grand staircase where we photographed some of our favorite bridal portraits—Baleigh’s train trailing behind her like something out of a classic film.
Original wood floors, stone walls, and vintage chandeliers that gave every candid and posed shot depth and character.
Baleigh got ready in the venue’s beautifully lit bridal suite—complete with antique mirrors, cozy lounge furniture, and calming natural tones. These soft moments with her bridal party and her final quiet seconds alone before walking down the aisle were some of the most emotionally rich photos of the day.
One of the most rewarding parts of the day was capturing Baleigh and Michael together—just the two of them. Whether framed by the grand windows or silhouetted on the spiral staircase, they gave us everything: warmth, chemistry, tenderness. Every time they looked at each other, the nerves melted away. You can see it in the way her hand fit into his, or how his smile softened when she was near.
These photos don’t just show their wedding day. They show their connection.
From heartfelt speeches to a packed dance floor, the reception was full of energy and movement—exactly the kind of vibe we love to photograph. The amber uplighting against the old woodwork, the laughter echoing across the vaulted ceilings, the little moments between friends and family—it all came together in a way that felt both elegant and deeply personal.
Baleigh and Michael’s wedding was a perfect blend of timeless architecture and heartfelt connection. The Historic Courthouse 1893 gave us a rich, romantic canvas—but it was their love, their joy, and the community around them that brought it to life.
We’re so honored to have been the ones to document this day.
